Stoughton Aqua Racers Practice Groups

Stoughton Aqua Racers Parents
Just a short note to the parents of our Aqua Racers swimmers. I’m sure you are all aware just how vital parent involvement is to any youth program, as well as to the success of your child in the program. In any youth program that is successful, you will notice a very high degree of parental involvement. If our children are to benefit from the Stoughton Aqua Racers program, parent involvement is a MUST. There are many ways to volunteer and help the team (please see a Stoughton Aqua Racers Board member or a coach for information on volunteering!). But most importantly, a swimmer who sees his parent helping, knows he cares, and that translates into a happier, more motivated, more successful swimmer!!

Practicing!!!
The STAR team has a philosophy to make swimming a lifetime sport of all of our swimmers. We encourage kids to be at practice on a regular basis, as well as continue to be involved in other activities they are interested in. Trying other sports and activities as they mature is only natural so that kids become well rounded.

As children grow older, they will naturally make choices and narrow down the activities they enjoy most participating in. In swimming they will need to add more practice time and will be able to handle the expectations needed to achieve in swimming. Coaches recommend attending their practice group when they can. Schoolwork always comes first but we ask that you encourage your child to make the best use of their time so they don’t miss out on practice.

If children are ill or need to be gone from practice for an extended time please inform the coach so we are on the same page with regard to your child. For more information on practicing and commitment to swimming try looking at the USA Website (www.usaswimming.org) for parents regarding this and many other topics.
